Tracking Teleological Thinking In Daily Life: An Experience-Sampling Study

We propose a 14-day experience-sampling study with 150 adults to examine the frequency and triggers of teleological thinking, i.e., attributing purpose to events in daily life. Using smartphone prompts, we will assess purpose attributions, context, and emotions. Multilevel modeling and content analysis will identify contextual and individual predictors of teleology.
