Abstract
Our research examined whether individuals’ risk perceptions of severe weather predict how they prepare for disasters. Survey responses were collected from 451 adults across the US. We found that perceived weather dangers predicted preparedness, with perceived windstorm risk as the strongest predictor of preparedness.
