Abstract
This study examined 1,095 White American, Hispanic American, and African American college students using multiple-group structural equation modeling. Intrinsic reading motivation positively predicted reading amount and comprehension universally. Conversely, extrinsic motivation negatively impacted reading amount significantly more strongly for Hispanic American than White or African American students.
