A Field Investigation of Urban Public Space Experiences In Chicago

Abstract
We propose a field experiment in urban public spaces chosen to vary in features such as naturalness, openness, coherence, and accessibility. Heart rate, eye gaze, and movement metrics will be combined with self-report data to investigate whether design features can help mitigate the negative impact of built environments on wellbeing.
