Using Language to Map Personality Differences In the Meaning of the “Self”

Using over 3 million Reddit comments from 1,568 individuals who reported Big Five scores, we applied the Supervised Semantic Differential to examine how people linguistically construe the concept of self. Personality traits reliably predicted semantic variation, revealing psychologically interpretable patterns in self-construal across traits.
