Abstract

Stress is linked to mental health and requires accurate assessment. Although widely used, the Perceived Stress Scale’s factor structure remains debated. Using confirmatory factor analysis in 254,416 participants, a bifactor model showed excellent fit and a dominant general factor, offering theoretical and psychometric support for a total score.
