The AI Therapist: College Students' Skepticism of AI-Based Therapy

This study examines college students’ attitudes toward artificial intelligence (AI)-based therapy. After surveying 179 participants, the statistical findings convey that students generally oppose the implementation of AI-based therapy. Significant differences in the responses of paired items indicated a preference for face-to-face psychological counseling over AI-based psychological counseling.
