Abstract

We investigated whether component parts of effortful control (EC) moderated the relationship between behavioral inhibition and subsequent anxiety problems in toddlers. There were 181 participants (52% boys). Attentional focusing, but not other components of EC, moderated the relationship between behavioral inhibition and anxiety problems (b = -.12, p < .01).
