Abstract

We investigated how sentence information load impacts predictive processing. Thirty participants completed a sentence reading task with EEG recording. Behavioral results showed that the presence of intervening information shifted readers’ comprehension towards relying more on adjacent local cues. However, prediction-related N400 responses were not affected by sentence information load.
