Abstract

We tested the Revised Feature Model’s prediction that production-based distinctiveness transfers across modalities. Across three mixed-list experiments, verbal recall always showed the sawtooth production effect. Spatial recall showed no transfer with single-task retrieval but clear transfer with two-step recall. Results support a unified, non-modular feature-based memory system.
