Children Adjust, Adults Integrate: The Development of Adaptive Decision-Making In Repeated Bargaining

Abstract

We employed a repeated ultimatum game paradigm to examine adaptive decision making in children aged 6-8 and 9-12 years old and a group of young adults (total n = 148). Results showed that child groups showed significantly lower self-other integration than adults but maintained short-term strategies.
