Abstract

We examined longitudinal associations between brain activation and inhibitory control using fMRI stop-signal task data from 6,482 ABCD participants (ages 8–17). Bayesian mixed-effects models revealed distinct contributions of prefrontal, supramarginal, and anterior cingulate regions, indicating developmental tuning of distributed prefrontal-attentional networks rather than isolated-region maturation.
