Testing Ideological Climate Change Appeals: The Roles of Right-Wing Authoritarianism and Social Dominance Orientation

We tested climate change appeals that aligned with the conservative ideologies of Right-Wing Authoritarianism (N = 563) and Social Dominance Orientation (N = 1350), respectively. Individuals scoring higher in each ideology preferred and agreed more with the corresponding ideological appeal, however only the Right-Wing Authoritarianism appeal increased climate-related behaviour.
