Abstract
This research investigated Affective populist language use and polarization. Based on a mixed-methods design, the study revealed how populists used language to garner support, create divisive tendencies and shape public opinion, highlighting a relationship between linguistic expressions and political behaviour. The study has implication for language use and democratic process
