Abstract

Second-order planning in object manipulation involves anticipating secondary constraints, such as adopting an initially awkward grasp to achieve end-state comfort. Using an overturned cup task, we found object size did not predict end-state comfort in adults, suggesting second-order planning is robust to size variations, contrasting with differences observed in children.
