Abstract

In a large, multi-site study (N = 1,016) we investigated the link between endorsement of misconceptions about learning and memory and academic behaviors. Several prominent misconceptions were associated with problematic academic behaviors. For example, belief in learning styles was associated with avoiding courses that do not match one’s learning style.
