Abstract

This systematic review and meta-analysis of 29 studies (8 meta-analysed) showed significant associations between Large Language Model (LLM) interactions with better social connectedness in experimental settings. Cross-sectional studies showed no clear link for general LLM chatbot interactions. Specifically designed LLMs are promising for scalable socioemotional support.
