Abstract
This study examined how self-relevance and enjoyment influence the photo-taking impairment effect across two museum-based experiments. Findings showed that selfies and engaging photo tasks enhanced picture recognition, demonstrating that personal relevance and interest can reverse memory deficits traditionally associated with photo-taking.
