Leveraging Generative AI to Enhance Writing Quality In Typical and Struggling Adolescents Writers

Abstract
This study investigates whether prompt-based AI (Copilot), with and without explicit writing-strategy instruction, can enhance the writing quality of students in Grades 7–9. Using a mixed-methods design, the study aims to inform ethical, effective integration of GenAI as assistive technology and improve support for students with writing difficulties.
