The Effects of Early Special Education Depends on Children's Difficulty Types

Abstract
We used special education status and children's difficulty types at 5-year-old (n = 35,024) to predict language and academic abilities 3 years later using the propensity score matching method. We found special education improved the outcomes for children with only one difficulty but worsened the outcomes for children with comorbidities.
