Abstract

We tested the consistency of the asymmetric wording effect profile in well-established measures of stress (PSS-10, N=58,672) and resilience (BRS, N=7,248). Removing the detected asymmetry yielded strong psychometric evidence of validity and reliability across both scales. This directly challenges the ongoing overuse of multidimensional models, justifying a more parsimonious solution.
