Abstract

This proposed study examines how extremist memes function as identity cues that influence early-stage radicalization. Participants will view curated meme sets and report interpretations and identity alignment. We expect stronger in-group identification to predict greater acceptance of extremist themes, supporting Social Identity Theory mechanisms in digital propaganda.
