Perceptions of Authenticity, Likeability, Hireability, and Fairness across Gendered Impression Management Tactics

Abstract
Participants read scenarios describing male and female job candidates using five impression management strategies. Different impression management strategies were perceived as more or less authentic, sincere, fair, likeable, and hireable and these perceptions varied by the gender of the job candidate. Findings have implications for the hiring process.
