Abstract
Two confirmatory studies conducted with a total of 543 American adults showed that those of East Asian (vs. European) cultural backgrounds reported a higher tendency to retain consumption-related possessions, and that this cultural difference was mediated by their dialectical view about their behaviours, perceiving these as more changeable.
