Flexible Work in SMEs: Balancing Individual Focus with Collective Productivity

Using five focus groups with 24 SME employees, we examined how flexible work arrangements (FWAs) influence communication, collaboration, and productivity. Results showed enhanced individual focus but reduced informal exchanges, slower problem-solving, and coordination delays. FWAs required shared norms for availability to sustain team-level productivity. Data collection is complete.
