Abstract

This study examined a 3-day social networking site detox in working adults using an experimental pretest–posttest design (N = 42). The detox improved mental well-being but not life satisfaction. Higher openness predicted reduced well-being. Overall, brief digital disengagement may support well-being, though its effects vary across individuals.
