Abstract

We examined presence in two virtual reality (VR) stress-induction experiments (N=514). Presence, a unidimensional construct, showed small associations with participant age and conscientiousness. There were little differences in presence by participant sex, prior VR familiarity, and other Big Five personality traits. Future research should consider presence in VR-based psychological studies.
