Hedonic and Eudaimonic Motivations As Predictors of Fertility Intentions: The Moderating Roles of Gender and Income
- Min Young Kim
Abstract
This study examined whether hedonic and eudaimonic motivations predict fertility intentions, and whether this association varies by gender and income level. Results showed that income alone did not predict fertility intentions, whereas hedonic happiness interacted with income and gender: it increased men’s intentions under low income but decreased women’s intentions.
