How Representational Strength Shapes the Mere Exposure Effect: Evidence from Chinese Two-Character Words

Abstract
This study examines how representational strength modulates the mere exposure effect. Using Chinese words to manipulate representational strength, we predict that all stimuli will show an inverted-U pattern, with stronger representations reaching the peak of liking more quickly than weaker ones.
