Disgust and Religious Social Distancing

Religious conservatism is associated with ingroup favoritism and outgroup derogation.  It is also linked with disgust sensitivity and regional differences in pathogen stress.  This study replicates the link between disgust and religious conservatism and indicates that those who are more sensitive to disgust both perceive and perpetuate more religious exclusion.
