Effects of Viewing Youtube Workout Content on Body Image Among Men and Women

Abstract
We examined effects of viewing YouTube workout content versus control content on body image-related constructs among 215 participants (Mage = 19.42). Analyses revealed greater post-test body dissatisfaction and exercise motivation (ps < .001) among those viewing workout content, suggesting that such content can have concomitant negative and positive effects.
