The Role of Emotional Focus on Metacomprehension (Mis)Calibration

Emotions tend to significantly bias metacomprehension judgments during reading comprehension. The study revealed that, along with emotional valence, Object focus of emotion, i.e., activity emotions and Outcome-focused emotions, significantly predict overconfidence and inferior calibration, resulting in performance overestimation and poorer accuracy.
