Psychological Pathways Linking Happiness and Fertility Intentions

Using PROCESS Model 82 with 371 employees, this study examined how life satisfaction affects fertility intentions through hedonic and eudaimonic pursuits and childrearing concerns. Life satisfaction increased fertility intentions indirectly via eudaimonic pursuit and reduced self-realization concerns, whereas the hedonic pathway through self-sacrificing concerns was nonsignificant.
