Abstract
Autistic individuals are often characterized as visual thinkers. To test this, we interviewed participants about their thinking styles. Our analysis across the full sample revealed three themes that remained salient among participant groups with varying levels of autistic traits, suggesting that visual thinking is not characteristic of autism.
