Abstract
Vicarious exposure to hate crimes elevates stress via discrimination-based attributions. This mediated relationship is moderated by acculturation and beliefs about hate crimes: individuals with a non-Hispanic cultural orientation and lower denial of hate crimes are more likely to attribute incidents to discrimination, intensifying stress responses
