Abstract
Chronic absenteeism threatens academic success. Risk assessments help understand causes of absenteeism but assume thoughtful responding. We examined rapid responding as an indicator of student disengagement when completing a risk assessment. Rapid responding affected risk classification accuracy and varied by administration context, highlighting needed updates to risk assessment instructions.
