Uncertainty Intolerance As a Barrier to Moving Interventions Upstream
- Pamela Campos-Ordóñez

Abstract
People higher in uncertainty intolerance and neuroticism preferred downstream over upstream interventions in a resource allocation task (N = 221). Across 3 domains, these traits predicted reluctance to invest in preventative strategies. Results highlight psychological barriers to supporting long-term public health solutions and suggest opportunities for intervention reframing.
