Culture and Resilience in Later Life: Rethinking What It Means to Age Well

This qualitative study explored how 107 older adults from Black, Chinese, Middle Eastern/Arab, and South Asian backgrounds in the U.S. define successful aging. Five key themes emerged-holistic wellness, social connection, autonomy, resilience, and purpose-revealing how cultural backgrounds shape views on aging and offering insights to guide inclusive aging practices.
