Effect of Pain and Resilience on Mental Health in College Students

Abstract

We explored the effect of chronic pain and resilience on mental health in college students. Among the 72 participants (82% female; 49% White) chronic pain and resilience exhibited main effects on perceived stress, depressive symptoms and anxiety symptoms. Mental health interventions should focus on both resilience-building and physical health concerns.
