Abstract
Dating secrecy, i.e., hiding romantic relationships—often referred to as the 'cultural closet'—is fairly common among the South Asian diaspora and is linked to significant distress, yet lacks empirical study. This mixed-methods research examines its mental health ramifications, comparing those with and without such identity conflict, to inform culturally-responsive care.
