Abstract

We examined ERP responses (EPN, N400, LPP) to emotional words in Mandarin and English among 48 Chinese-English bilinguals. Using Stroop task and EEG, we tested how age of acquisition and language distance modulate emotional resonance across L1 and L2, revealing stronger neural engagement for emotional words in participants’ first language.
