Action Knows the Way: Analyzing the Relationship between Spatial and Motor Representations

What are the mechanisms linking action and spatial representations? Using 3D motion capture during pointing to familiar locations, we found faster, more efficient pointing movements for aligned orientations, with minor gender differences in movement velocity. These findings provide fresh evidence for the embodied nature of environmental representation.
