Abstract

This study explores the development of national identity among Singapore citizens in a 3-year longitudinal study post-pandemic via a multidimensional perspective of identity. We found that importance (identity centrality) develops from motivational attachments to the nation (commitment, deference, superiority), but not the reverse.
