Abstract

Higher BMI was associated with greater weight-related information avoidance, which in turn predicted lower physical activity. This significant indirect effect suggests that weight-related information avoidance may contribute to less physical activity, particularly among individuals with higher BMI, and could undermine the effectiveness of self-monitoring strategies aimed at increasing physical activity.
