Abstract

Imposter phenomenon (IP) refers to strong feelings of intellectual fraudulence and the inability to attribute success to one's competence. The current study investigated predictors of IP among African American women. Results revealed that the best predictors were academic self-concept, parental overcontrol, negative affect, and ethnic stigma consciousness.
