Abstract
We explored parent-child discrepancies across six functional domains (family engagement, familial trust, school engagement, prosocial friendships, emotional regulation and future goals) in a sample of youth (N = 439) admitted to psychiatric residential care. Parents consistently perceived lower adolescent functioning, and some discrepancies were related to attachment and treatment readiness.
