Abstract
We analysed an eight-year, four-wave panel study of U.S. adults (N = 7,289) using RI-CLPM. Higher risk perceptions predicted future declines in psychological well-being, even after accounting for neuroticism and prior well-being. No reverse effect was found, supporting a unidirectional pathway from risk perception to well-being over time.
