Abstract

We analyzed 159 trauma-related expressive writing samples using multilevel modeling to examine within- and between-person associations of temporal language with daily anxiety. Participants reported greater anxiety on days when more future-focused language was used, suggesting the utility of linguistic markers as diagnostic indicators of persistent anxiety risk following trauma exposure.
