Routine and Non-Routine Household Tasks, Role Overload, and Relationship Satisfaction in Opposite-Gender Couples

This study of 416 adults in heterosexual relationships explores the links between household chores, role overload, and relationship satisfaction. Among women, task sharing increases overload and reduces satisfaction. Among men, it is rather the number of hours worked that lowers satisfaction.
