Consideration of Indicator Interchangeability Can Strengthen Construct Validation Efforts

Revisiting assumptions of indicator interchangeability in factor analysis can help adjudicate models beyond consideration of their fit. In this talk, I will use the example of the general factor of psychopathology and demonstrate how violations of indicator interchangeability threaten its construct validity.
